As National Engineers Week 2018 ends,
Sustained Quality Group wants to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of engineers.
Since 1951, the United States has been observing National Engineers week in February due to George Washington's Birthday. Many believe Washington's survey work makes him the country's first engineer.
More than 70 engineering, cultural and educational societies and more than 50 corporations and government agencies observe Engineers Week.
This year's theme is "Engineers: Inspiring Wonder".
Inspiring wonder starts with our youth. Educators often take this time to inspire our future STEM workforce. Children often do not realize how much engineers influence everyday life.

Engineers will remain in high demand. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the field of engineering expects to grow as much as 10 percent in the coming decade alone.
